Bella the butterfly felt sad. Her wings had dots. The other butterflies had stripes. “Nobody looks like me,” she said. She sat on a flower alone. Then a small ladybug landed beside her. “Hi! I am Ruby,” the ladybug said. “Want to play?”

Bella and Ruby played all day. They hopped on leaves. They danced in the sun. But two big bees laughed. “Your wings look funny!” they said. Bella felt scared. Ruby held her hand. “I like your dots,” Ruby said. “They are like little stars.”

Bella smiled big. She looked at her wings. The dots did look like stars! She flew high and twirled. The bees watched and clapped. “So pretty!” they said. Bella laughed. Being different made her special. And Ruby helped her see that. Best friends forever!
