Finn had long, blonde hair that danced with the wind. Today was a big day for Finn. He was going to the beach with his cousin Sam, but his tummy felt like it had butterflies fluttering around. He had never been to the ocean before.

“Don’t worry, Finn,” said Mom softly as they packed their bags with sunscreen and sandwiches. “You’ll have a great time.”

Finn nodded, clutching his sand bucket tightly. The bright yellow bucket felt comforting in his hands. Maybe today would be fun after all.

When they got to the beach, Finn saw Sam waving excitedly. The sun was bright, and the sand felt warm under Finn’s feet.

“Hi, Finn!” shouted Sam. “Let’s build the biggest sandcastle ever!”

Finn smiled and waved back. He liked building sandcastles but wasn’t sure about playing in the water. The waves looked big and noisy, like a giant’s whisper.

“Come on,” urged Sam, grabbing his hand. “We’ll make it taller than us!”

As they walked closer to the shore, Finn could hear seagulls calling and see tiny crabs scuttling by their feet. He felt a little braver with Sam beside him, ready for their sandy adventure.

As they walked back to the car, Finn’s heart felt light and happy. He looked out at the ocean one last time, feeling proud of himself.

“Next time, maybe we can try swimming more,” said Sam with a smile.

Finn nodded eagerly. “Yes! I can’t wait for our next beach day.”

Mom hugged Finn tight. “I’m so proud of you,” she said softly. “You were brave and tried something new.”

Finn beamed up at her, knowing that he had faced his fears and found courage he didn’t know he had. The sun began to set, painting the sky in shades of orange and pink, as Finn waved goodbye to the ocean until next time.

And so, with a heart full of bravery and excitement for future adventures, Finn headed home—ready to see where courage would take him next.
