Zoe had always dreamed of visiting the moon. Every night, she pressed her face against her bedroom window and whispered, “One day, I’ll walk up there.” Finally, that day arrived. Zoe climbed into her shiny rocket, buckled her seatbelt, and counted down. “Three, two, one, blast off!” The engines roared like a thousand drums. Stars whooshed past her window like glowing fireflies. When the rocket landed softly on the dusty moon surface, Zoe bounced outside and giggled at how light she felt. Then she noticed something unusual — tiny glowing footprints in the moon dust.

Zoe followed the glowing footprints over a small hill. Behind a sparkly silver rock, she found a little creature humming a gentle tune. It had three eyes that blinked kindly. “Hello!” Zoe said, her heart beating fast. The creature smiled and hummed louder. Zoe didn’t understand its language, so she tried something different. She clapped a rhythm with her hands. The creature clapped back! They took turns making patterns — clap, stomp, spin — laughing together each time. “We don’t need the same words to be friends,” Zoe realized, feeling warm and brave inside her spacesuit.

The creature, whom Zoe named Lumi, showed her a hidden moon garden filled with crystals that chimed like tiny bells in the breeze. Zoe gasped with wonder. When her rocket beeped, signaling it was time to leave, Lumi looked sad. Zoe gently placed her favorite star sticker on Lumi’s hand. “I’ll come back,” she promised. Lumi hummed a happy melody and waved all three eyes goodbye. As Zoe soared home through the stars, she smiled knowing that the universe was full of friends waiting to be found — if you were brave enough to say hello.
